Smartrac Miniweb u8 RFID Paper Tag and inlays from Avery Dennison are developed for global retail, industry, and supply-chain applications. They operate well on difficult-to-tag or low-detuning materials like cardboard and plastic, as well as in other demanding, close-coupling settings.
Miniweb inlays and tags are offered in dry, wet, and paper tag delivery forms, with a compact size of 45 x 18 mm that can be easily transformed into end-application usage. Miniweb with NXP UCode 8 has the same memory size and IC functionality as Miniweb with NXP UCode 7. In addition, compared to NXP UCode 7, it has enhanced read and write sensitivity and faster encoding speed, as well as a Self Adjust capability to optimize product performance in demanding settings.
The chip also includes a built-in Brand Identifier function for proving product authenticity, as well as a memory safety system to preserve company data.
Miniweb, which uses the NXP UCode 8 IC in retail applications, is the smallest inlay currently available on the market that has passed the RFID Research Center of the University of Auburn’s ARC categories I and K standards for ETSI retail performance. Category I implies that the device is suited for applications requiring more RF performance than usual retail garment applications, such as home goods and merchandising.
